Day Two-- LeadsCon 2010

Now that we're back and all rested up, we're posting some more pictures from LeadsCon. If you missed the hilarious pictures we put up on Facebook... head over there now! Let's just say that LeadsCon has gone Roman.
Our partner, RateSpecial, was directly across from us, we love spending time with LinkTrust partners!
LeadsCon was bigger than ever before. Jeremy and Bret both said they found lots of great leads. (Pun intended.)
The putting green was good for more than just a Hole-in-One... for Jeremy it was a catwalk too.

Ace of Cakes look-a-like in Vegas?

I know, I'm just now getting this up, but I thought I'd give you all something fun to check out on this Friday afternoon.

Back at Affiliate Summit West 2010 in Las Vegas, we had to have some help in moving our grass for the mega-booth. So, we let the guys from Champion do their magic and get it in and out of our trailer.

Carol-Lyn got really excited when the forklift driver came to take away the grass because she thought he looked like Duff, from Ace of Cakes on the Food Network. We took a picture of him and I found a picture of Duff from another web site.

What do you think? Are they true dopplegangers?

Here's Carol-Lyn with the Duff look-a-like and the infamous grass.
Let us know what you think in the comments! Are we on the money?

We’re releasing two new LinkTrust version 6 features this week for you to feast your eyes on:

-Geo-Targeted Filtered Clicks Report

Run this report to find out what country your geo-filtered clicks come from and see it visually on a world map highlighting the traffic sources.

-Control the affiliate payout, merchant payout and transaction approvals on confirmation pixels.

Find out more about the feature release on the LinkTrust support site.

LeadsCon 2010

The LinkTrust Hole-in-One contest at Affiliate Summit West was a huge success and now we’re bringing it to LeadsCon 2010. Sink a Hole-in-One at the LinkTrust booth #502 and win a radio-controlled car.

“Golf is the greatest sport in the world, and remote controlled vehicles are one of the most fun hobbies of all time,” said Jeremy Coon, LinkTrust director of sales. “Merging the two might literally cause the LinkTrust booth to explode! We’re looking forward to out-putting and out-driving anyone who stops by the booth.”

The growth in attendance at LeadsCon is an indicator for the strength of the affiliate marketing industry. The first LeadsCon in April 2008 was host to less than 300 companies. This year, LinkTrust is one of more than 900 companies in the lead generation industry registered to attend LeadsCon 2010.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what is new in the lead-gen vertical at LeadsCon 2010 and how the industry has changed in this weak economy,” said Bret Grow, president of LinkTrust.

LinkTrust offers a full lead management platform for capturing, verifying and distributing leads in real-time as well as offering the most accurate tracking technology for ad network management.

Stop by booth #502 and say hello to the LinkTrust team.

If you'll be there, let us know! Bret and Jeremy want to say hello!

You remember "Cliff Notes," the study guides from your high school English class. They came in quite handy when you didn't have time to read the entire Odyssey, so you crammed in the details and passed the test.

On Feb. 11, Gavin will give a brief overview of LinkTrust (or the "Cliff Notes") for anyone new to the system or who just needs a refresher course on how all the features fit together.

Some of the topics he will review are:
-Campaign creation
-Affiliate management
-Communication to affiliates

Missed the last webinar about our new features? We'll have videos up soon for you to watch.

Looks Do Matter

I had a bit of inspiration about software development recently. The circumstances are perhaps a bit unusual. I was sitting with my wife in labor and delivery at the hospital. The monitors for mom and baby are hooked up to a computer. The application which graphs the vital information for both had two features which really caught my eye. First was an animated stork which flew across the top of the screen. The second was that a nurse changed the colors to be shades of blue because we were having a boy.

Neither of these features provided additional functionality to help the doctors or nurses attending to us. What they did do was provide us with a bit of comfort. We spent most of our time watching the screen to ensure all was well. The little UI touches made what was a very sterile medical application a bit more comforting to expectant parents.

The “ah ha” moment for me was that too often I focus on providing raw functionality and information. I don’t always consider the impact of those little UI touches as I should. I’m very excited though about some recent UI development breakthroughs with LinkTrust.

Our upcoming release features some new graphing capabilities in the affiliate center. They will be the first of a number of graphs we plan to add in coming releases. We are also working on some other major UI enhancements in coming releases. While functionality is very important I’ve learned so are those little UI touches.

Now before you get too concerned, none of the UI enhancements will involve flying storks or dancing babies. Although perhaps a animated mouse being clicked might be in order.
